Arrival and Departure
The house is available from 3:00 PM on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10:00 AM on the day of departure.
For houses with ordered or mandatory cleaning, departure can be delayed until 11:00 AM.
Keys must be collected from Samsø Sommerhusudlejning, Østergade 25, 8305 Samsø.
After 2:00 PM, you are welcome to inquire whether the house is ready.
For arrivals or departures outside office hours, keys can be picked up or dropped off in the key room at the office.
Cancellation
If the rental agreement is canceled up to 60 days before arrival, a fee of 25% of the rent (minimum DKK 730) will be charged.
Between 1–59 days before the start of the holiday, the rental cannot be canceled, and the tenant is obligated to pay the full rental amount to Samsø Sommerhusudlejning.
Waste
Samsø has waste sorting requirements. Cardboard and glass must be taken to designated collection points. All holiday homes provide instructions for sorting waste (regular waste bags can be used for food waste). If the house is left with unsorted waste, Samsø Sommerhusudlejning reserves the right to charge a fee for its disposal.

Complaints Board
Samsø Sommerhusudlejning is a member of the Holiday Home Rental Industry Association, which sets standards to ensure safety and quality in holiday home rentals.
Your holiday is important to us, and we strive to resolve any issues during your stay. If we are unable to solve your problem to your satisfaction, you can seek an independent evaluation and decision from the Holiday Home Complaints Board.
Visitors
The number of overnight guests must not exceed the number stated in the house description. Setting up tents, caravans, or campervans on the property is also prohibited.
Payment Terms
The booking becomes binding once Samsø Sommerhusudlejning sends the confirmation and rental agreement.
- 1st payment: 25% of the rent plus an administrative fee is due within 14 days of booking.
- 2nd payment: 75% of the rent is due no later than 60 days before arrival.
- If booking less than 60 days before the rental period begins, the full amount and administrative fee are due immediately upon receipt of the rental agreement.
All prices exclude electricity, heating, and water, which are charged separately upon departure.
Samsø Sommerhusudlejning reserves the right to adjust prices due to changes in consumer prices.
Failure to adhere to payment terms is considered a breach of contract, allowing Samsø Sommerhusudlejning to terminate the rental agreement. This does not exempt the tenant from paying the rent, which will be regulated according to the cancellation policy.
Wood Stove
Wood stoves are for burning wood or briquettes only. Wood at or near the house belongs to the owner and must not be used unless stated otherwise in the house description. Wood and briquettes can be purchased at supermarkets, hardware stores, or roadside stands on the island.
Bicycles/Bicycle Rental
Some houses provide bicycles. Samsø Sommerhusudlejning is not responsible for defects or quality issues.

Electric Cars
Some holiday home owners have installed charging stations for electric vehicles. The description of the house will indicate if a charging station is available. For safety reasons, charging via regular electrical outlets in the house is not permitted.
Electricity
All houses have 220V electricity. Danish sockets have either two or three round pins (230 volts with grounding).
Electricity meters are typically located outside the house and may have a cover. Lift the cover slightly to read the meter. Check if the kilowatt reading is shown as whole numbers or decimals.
Force Majeure
If Samsø Sommerhusudlejning is unable to provide the rented property due to force majeure or similar unforeseeable circumstances, the rental agreement may be canceled. In such cases, the tenant will receive a voucher for the amount paid. The voucher must be used within 12 months after the planned stay and after the force majeure situation is resolved. The voucher can only be used for new bookings through Samsø Sommerhusudlejning.

Forgotten Items
If you forget personal belongings in the holiday home, we are happy to assist in returning them to your home address. Shipping costs and a fee of DKK 100 will be charged. Forgotten items are stored locally for one month. Samsø Sommerhusudlejning is not liable for items that cannot be retrieved.
Guests
The number of overnight guests must not exceed the number stated in the house description. Tents, caravans, or campervans are not allowed on the property.
Accessibility
Samsø Sommerhusudlejning offers holiday homes suitable for wheelchair users. Facility and access details can be found in the house descriptions.
House Descriptions
Descriptions of privately owned holiday homes are as accurate as possible.
We are not responsible for changes or typographical errors. Inventory details depend on the taste of each homeowner.
Floor plans are indicative and may deviate from the actual layout, such as terrace or attic details.

Noise
While enjoying your holiday, daily life continues on Samsø. Construction work is permitted between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, even during holiday periods.
Samsø Sommerhusudlejning informs guests of major construction projects when possible. Noise from restaurants, bars, air traffic, or vehicles is beyond our control.
Keys
Typically, only one key is provided, even if several families are staying in the house. Keys for mailboxes, sheds, etc., are usually found inside the house or alongside the main key.
You must vacate the house by 11:00 AM and return the key to the designated location.
Cleaning/Responsibility
The tenant must maintain cleanliness and leave the house tidy. Missing cleaning services will be charged.
If cleaning is pre-ordered, tenants are still responsible for cleaning ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and ensuring furniture is returned to its original place.
Pests
Insects and small animals such as mosquitoes, earwigs, flies, mice, and wasps are natural in Danish nature. Samsø Sommerhusudlejning cannot be held responsible for their presence. Contact us in extreme cases.
Damages
Report any damages to Samsø Sommerhusudlejning immediately. Damages discovered after departure will be repaired at the tenant's expense.
Unexpected Situations
If the house is sold or foreclosed, the rental agreement may need to be terminated. We will strive to find an alternative.
Currency
ATMs on Samsø dispense Danish Kroner (DKK) and Euros.
